Norway & Switzerland holiday || Flying + Panic Attack

Hey! I know I haven't been active with blogging lately as I have very minimal internet. You see, I'm staying at my grandparent's house and they don't have any wifi! So I have not been able to blog, however, today I decided to quickly connect my laptop to my phone 3G but I obviously can't do this too much or it will use up.

I'm currently in Norway on Christmas holidays visiting all our friends and family on mum's side. It's been absolutely amazing to see everyone again, and also to get away from that summer heat back in Australia. I'm so excited this year we get to have a white Christmas! Because I can't spend too much time on my phone internet I thought I would just give you quick post on why I haven't been on and also I wanted to share some photos. Mind you these are just phone photos but I will be putting up proper photos of Norway and Switzerland (our next stop as my dad's side are all there).

The plane trip was absolutely horrible. The first flight left at 9pm and was supposed to be 15 hours, though ended up being 13 and a half hours long. The seats were so small and me who already has a lot of difficulty sleeping did not do well sleeping on the plane either. Then we had a few (cannot remember exactly how long) hours stopover in Abu Dhabi. The second flight was 8 hours long and again, very uncomfortable. We had another stopover in Paris for 5 hours before finally getting on our last flight to Oslo which was only 2 hours, and surprisingly I did sleep for 45 minutes on that plane.

I've grown up flying overseas a fair bit due to moving and visiting family so flying usually isn't something I get anxious with. However, this time I was highly anxious. I had all these scenarios in my head which completely freaked me out. I was anxious for days before we were due to leave, in the airport I was still anxious but I managed to keep a little bit calm. Going through security my anxiety went up again. I then had a full-blown panic attack right before takeoff. I could hardly breathe, I was nauseous, trembling and palms sweating. It's kind of hard to describe anxiety and panic attacks but if you're not familiar with them then you should check it out on the internet, it might make more sense. If you are someone who experiences panic attacks then you probably understand what I'm trying to say.

Anyways, keeping the post mostly short, here are some photos!

Flying out of Abu Dhabi.

Flying out of Paris, only made sense to get these mini baguette snacks!

Still flying over France, look at the snow!

Took a nice walk to the harbour a few days after arriving.

Went ice skating this day and loved the lights!

Not much snow yet when this photo was taken, but the view was nice.

Okay so you can obviously tell this was taken with a phone camera but nonetheless I love the lights!

Little bit of frost flakes.

And finally we put up the Christmas tree!

Okay so those are some of the photos, I hoped you enjoyed this post! Leave a comment letting me know what you're up to these holidays!

Have a great holiday!

Beach + Sister Adventures

Hey there! Today I was just browsing through photos on my mum's computer and found all these pictures of my sisters and I growing up on the beach. It made me realise how much I miss living right next to it. I then thought about the trip we took just recently to Stradbroke Island and how great it felt to be there. Where we currently live we have to drive an hour to the beach, and even though it's a nice beach the atmosphere is just not the same. The trip to Stradbroke was great, it felt much more similar to the beach we used to live at and it brought back familiar feelings (if that makes sense).

Anyways, I thought I would love to share some of the photos taken on that trip.

As always it's impossible to get a single photo where all of us are smiling haha. I loved this trip it was nice to be in a familiar scene with just the family. We saw dolphins and plenty of turtles (I didn't find the close up photos of the turtles :( but you can still the ones we took from the hill hehe). We also had quite the experience at a restaurant when we went for lunch/dinner. But let me tell you it's not the experience that you're thinking. At first glance I was already unsure about it but my sisters were so hungry they didn't care. It looked a bit dirty (always throws me off). They sat us down at a table (right next to the bathrooms I might add) and the second thing I noticed was how many damn flies there were. It was so frustrating too because you could hear them buzzing and feel them everywhere. The menu wasn't too intriguing (mostly fatty and deep fried) but I saw they had a steak on their specials so I ordered that. It was certainly not medium rare like I ordered and the food looked like it had just been slapped on the plate. My mum's plate looked like it had just been reused after a previous customer and my dad also mentioned something but I can't remember what it was. We all just kind of found it entertaining as we exchanged glances.

I've also found plenty of other photos with my sisters and I at different places and thought I might create a mini series called 'Sister Adventures'. I personally love seeing posts with more photos and a little bit of writing (I know it is blogging but what can I say, photos capture my eyes). So if you'd like to see more let me know!

I hope you enjoyed this post as much as I enjoyed writing it :D

Halloween Treat Ideas!

Ahh! Who else is excited for Halloween!? I remember when I was younger, the neighbourhood kids would all come together and go trick or treating. It was so much fun, dressing up in scary (well, more like favourite character) costumes, feeling the mix of nerves and excitement as you knocked on strangers doors and yelled "trick or treat!" They'd come out and pretend to be startled by our 'scary' costumes. You'd wait your turn to hold out your little bag/bucket and say thank you as they dropped a lolly in it, feeling like the happiest kid in the world.

I was getting a bit excited and had a browse on Pinterest for different Halloween sweets and treats. I found some great and yummy looking ideas, and thought I'd share some with you. Again, these are not my ideas, I just thought they looked fun and yum! All the links go directly to their original site not Pinterest.

This first one is called Gummy Worm Punch and I could seriously drink this right now.

This next one is called Strawberry Ghosts. How yummy do these look!

Mmm these Pumpkin Cupcakes with Cream Cheese Frosting sound delicious. I can't get over how cute they are!

Ooh these Pumpkin Patch Dirt Cups are a fabulous idea for kids! Looks super fun and tasty.

This last one is mostly because I love cinnamon so much. "Spooky" Cinnamon Sugar Flour Tortilla Chips (try saying that aha) nice and simple.

Okay so those are some of the fun ideas I found on Pinterest. I checked out each recipe and I have to say they all sound amazing! I'll definitely be trying some of these out, especially the last one just because it's got cinnamon.

I hope you enjoyed reading this post and if you did leave a comment, I love reading them!

See you in my next post!

New header + a few more changes!

Ahh I finally changed the appearance of my blog! I've been meaning to do this for such a long time now but so many things got in the way, as you may already know a little bit about if you read my last post. I guess overall my blog doesn't look drastically different, I stuck to the same colour scheme and same fonts (more or less). I was originally using the Ethereal template however it left this weird blue bit at the top of my blog and it drove me nuts. I'm still using the Ethereal template but I switched to the one without the blue bit at the top, though this meant I lost everything I had previously customised. I ended up just re customising all the colours and fonts, which like I mentioned pretty much stayed the same. I did resize the width of my blog and made it just that little bit narrower.

As for my favourite change... the header! I was never really happy with the old one and even though I tried multiple times to create a new one I was never happy with any of those either. I followed Gina's tutorial 'Create a blog header free' to make my new header. Her tutorial is super easy and completely free (just like it says). It also doesn't require any professional software or downloads from the internet. Make sure to check out her tutorial at her frickin AMAZING blog Life and Lights. She posts great content which is so nice to read. She's herself and writes in her own style, no overly formal or boring stuff. Her blog is focused around her migraines and experiences which can be helpful for others in similar situations (seriously helped me recently even though I loved her blog before this 'headache' started). Gina also shares lots of personal, healthy lifestyle and adventure related posts (great English in that sentence huh). Anyways, make sure to hop on over to Gina's blog and leave a comment too!

Okay so for my header I used a font downloaded for free, which you can get here.
I also loved this watercolour overlay which I downloaded in a set here.

I don't really have the money to spend on those beautiful themes, but in saying that I'm pretty pleased with the new look. Knowing myself,  I wouldn't be surprised if I changed something in the future because I just love redesigning things! Even my room, I move it around, redecorate and restyle all the time! I mean just within what I can do myself though, not like a complete room reno or anything haha.

Anyways, I really hope you liked this post and the new look! See you soon!

Where Have I Been??

First off, I would like to apologise for my lack of (or rather non existent) posts. I said that I would be posting much more frequently and that was definitely the plan. However,  my health suddenly dropped out of the blue and I wasn't able to focus of blogging. Approximately three months ago I was sitting in class when this weird headache came along. I thought it was just a normal headache so I left it and waited for it to pass, though it never did. It gradually got worse throughout the day so I took a couple of painkillers, but they didn't do anything. I couldn't sleep this headache off and it just got worse and worse. I waited a week to see if it was temporary but still to this day it never left, not even for two minutes. At the end of the week mum took me to the hospital as not only had the pain become much worse, but my vision was blurred at times, I was very dizzy and I was feeling highly nauseous. The hospital was super busy and as a quick physical examination showed nothing serious, they told me to go to my local GP who can follow it up. I got a new GP as I didn't like my other one. My new GP was great as she actually listened to me. I was prescribed some migraine tablets as well as a stronger painkiller because standard Panadol and Nurofen didn't help at all. We made another appointment for a week later to follow up. This week was awful. The stronger painkillers didn't touch it and I didn't have any response to the migraine tablets. The next week we went back and because I didn't have a response to neither the painkillers or tablets, she referred me to get a blood test and an MRI scan just to rule things out. The scan came out clean although the blood test didn't. Since then it's just been trial and error with different medication and specialists, so far I have not found anything that has worked.

The pain level varies from a dull headache to an almost unbearable pain. I've always had trouble falling asleep, though this headache has kept me from staying asleep as well. I so badly wanted to write a long and detailed blog post about this, in a way I think it would probably feel great to finally get it out in detail without shortening it down. But even just this small post has taken me over two days to get down because I have to keep taking breaks from looking at the screen, and also ever since this headache started I've just found it so much more difficult to think properly and really concentrate on what I'm doing, in particular when it comes to writing or explaining. Anyway, basically term 3 this year really took a toll on me, this headache along with the other symptoms have seriously impacted me and my daily activities especially school. There has also been a lot of other things going on which just spiralled downhill, overall term 3 was pretty hectic. I'd really like to continue blogging, though the posts will be short and pretty listed (which is my style anyway :)).

I just really needed to write this, I was hoping I would be able to get down a much more detailed post but I'm not sure exactly how interested you would be in that, I guess this was more for me in a way.

I'm always using Pinterest as it doesn't require me to sit down and write or read (it sucks I miss reading a good book) so if you'd like you can hop over and check it out :)

Anyways, I hope you guys are all enjoying your holidays so far ( those who are on holidays).

Creative Blogger Award!

Hello fellow blogger friends! I'm very happy to say that I've recently been nominated for the Creative Blogger Award. So thank you to Giselle from Perks of Being a Reader.  I really enjoy these little awards because it's a great opportunity to discover different bloggers, which is always fun!

Okay, so the rules are:
♥ Post a link to the person who nominated you and give thanks.
♥ Share 5 facts about yourself.
♥ Nominate 10 other blogs and give links.
♥ Contact your nominees to inform them of their nomination.
♥ Provide the rules to your nominees.

I enjoy these types of posts as I am definitely someone who has a 'listed' writing style. And because of this I have done many listed posts, some of which are similar to this, as in they include facts about me so hopefully I don't repeat the same facts again.

1. I really enjoy reading! Though I don't talk about books the same way other readers do, as in a lot of readers make sure other people know how much they read (if that makes any sense). But I don't really tend to express my passion for things with people (reason I like to write about it on here sometimes). I'm currently reading My Sister's Keeper by Jodi Picoult and if you would be interested in seeing a review soon let me know in the comments. :)

2. I love that I have a signature scent! I generally wear Victoria's Secret "Love Spell" body mist and it's amazing! I know it's the most popular one but it's not easily accessible where I live so it's not many people who have it. I don't know why but it's always a little bit fun when someone says "Someone smells really good." and then someone else says, "It's Sophie!" or "It smells like Sophie." But all in a good way. Or even if I wear a different one, people often say I smell really nice. I've even had people smelling my hair which is a bit weird sometimes haha.

3. I may have said this before but I'm half Norwegian and half Swiss. I moved to Australia at 6 weeks old, then since then I've been moving all over the place, Switzerland, Singapore and different places within Australia too. Mum says I've lived in over 19 (I think) homes, of course I don't remember all of them. But to me it's normal to move often. Moving a lot has definitely affected me in both positive and negative ways. But I love moving still!

4. I have a great passion for photography! I first got interested in it after a trip to the Great Barrier Reef many years ago. I was very intrigued as I watched the photographer taking photos, and then afterwards she let me come into the little room on the boat to see the photos on the computer screen. A couple of years later mum taught me how to use a DSLR camera and took me out to the forest to take photos. My mum also has a great passion for photography so it was pretty fun to share this hobby with her. After doing lots of nature photography, mum wanted to do newborns. So we decided to open a business together photographing newborns. We started a bit slow but now the business is doing pretty well. Unfortunately I can no longer come to all the session as I have school.

5. I love the Walt Disney Classics! My favourite story is Peter Pan. I love both the cartoon movies

and the 2003 action film with Jeremy Sumpter and Rachel Hurd-wood. The story is just something that's really captivated me since I was little. If you love Peter Pan tell me in the comments! :)

So those are my facts about me! I've listed 10 bloggers who I would like to nominate for this award.

Life and Lights
Beyond Blush
Lipstick and Biscuits
Into the Woods Style
Dreaming & Wanderings
Heavenly Clutter
Feathers and Stripes
I Write About You
Julia's Fashion Minute

There you go! Thanks heaps for reading this post, and also thanks again for nominating me!

Hope you enjoyed this post!

Victoria's Secret Body Mist!

Hello lovelies! Today I thought I would talk about the Victoria's Secret body mists. From left to right I have 'Coconut Passion' 'Love Spell' and 'Aqua Kiss'. It's not very easy to get a hold of these where I live because there's only one Victoria's Secret store near me, and that's in the airport. For Christmas I wished for one body mist, then I got an email from Victoria's Secret saying that they were doing a deal of 5 for $30, so I thought great! When I got there though, they said that it was 3 for $43, so you can probably imagine my disappointment. It's a fair bit more expensive in Australia which really sucks. I didn't end up buying them (I know it was still a good deal but it wasn't what I hoped for and the ladies were kind of rude so I didn't really want to shop there). But on Christmas I opened up a gift with three body mists! My parents had gone back and bought them as a Christmas gift for me and I was over the moon! They knew I had wished for 'Love Spell' so they bought that one, plus 'Coconut Passion' and 'Aqua Kiss' and I love them all! I don't think I've worn any other perfume or splashes since I got these. They smell amazing and I always get compliments on them.

The first body mist is 'Coconut Passion'. I absolutely love this one! It smells of 'rich vanilla and warm coconut'. This body mist is very summery and I always wear this one when I go to the beach. I'm not necessarily a very seasonal person so really I'd just where this whenever I feel like it aha. The lasting power is a few hours. Well after a few hours I can't smell it because I get used to it, but my mum always says I smell really nice even after I no longer smell it so it probably lasts a bit longer.

The second body mist is 'Love Spell'. This one smells incredibly amazing! (Not even sure if that's proper English aha). It smells of 'lush cherry blossom and juicy peach'. This one is very fresh but also sweet. One of my guy friends always compliments me when I wear this. The lasting power is pretty much the same for all of these. My sister's both like this one the best and I can't choose between 'Love Spell' and 'Coconut Passion'.

Last but not least, is 'Aqua Kiss'. This body mist smells so nice and fresh! It smells of 'a cool splash of freesia and fresh daisy'. It has a little bit of floral tones which I love and isn't overpowering. Again the lasting power is a few hours. Even though this one isn't my favourite I still really like it a lot! This one is great for summer and spring, although if you're like me and don't really mind too much about being seasonal, go ahead and wear it all year round!

I really like that these are in plastic packaging and not glass so that it's nice and easy to take it with you. I bring mine to school so I can respray whenever I need to. It also doesn't have that cheap plastic feel. The packaging is nice, sturdy and pretty.

All of these claim to have a 'Refreshing formula infused with conditioning aloe vera and calming chamomile.' I have quite sensitive skin and I have never had any sort of reaction to these so if you have sensitive skin then these are great! I'm planning on going back to purchase some more for my birthday so if you have any suggestions on which scents I should get let me know in the comments!

I hope you enjoyed reading this post and if you like you can follow my blog through GFC and Bloglovin so you can be notified when I post something new!

The Liebster Award

Hi guys, I've recently been nominated for the Liebster Award by the amazing One More Girl Online! Thank you so much for nominating me! :) She has a fantastic blog with lots of great posts on different topics. Make sure to check out her blog here!

The Liebster Award is something you share with people whose blogs you enjoy reading. You ask them  a set of questions which they answer, then they forward the award to other people whose blogs they enjoy and ask them a new set of questions. Hopefully that made a bit of sense ahaha. One More Girl Online has asked me some really fun questions so I'm going to answer them!

1. What is your dream job?
My dream job is to be a successful actress and has been since I was very little. When I was in grade 8 I participated as a supporting role in a school play. Then in grade 9 I participated in the school musical which was much bigger and super fun. Currently I am with an agency and have had a couple of really fun experiences on set. I know that it's a very competitive industry and I do have a backup plan, though acting is most definitely my number one choice.

2. What do you like to do in your free time?
When I do have some free time I like to do some photography as I absolutely love it! I also like to make up dances, write lists, write blog posts, listen to music, read, shop and a bunch of other stuff. Sometimes I even like to clean (I know) aha but I can't stand mess. It doesn't have to be perfect but at least decent.

3. What is/was your favourite class in school?
I am currently in grade 11 and my favourite subject's are dance, drama and English.

4. What is your ideal weekend?
A weekend without homework would be great! I would also love to hang in a pool with friends.

5. What questions do you hate having asked to you?
Any math question on the spot I hate. I tend to panic no matter how easy the question. I've always been like that and I don't know why :/

6. What is your favourite holiday and why?
My favourite holiday is Christmas! I love spending Christmas in Norway because it's such a huge celebration and it's always so much fun. We get to see all our family and have a white Christmas which is the best! I was born in Norway and I am half Norwegian half Swiss but I live in Australia!

7. What do you see for yourself in the future?
I would love to be a successful actress (I don't mean rich and famous aha, I would just really like to have a career in acting). I would also like to travel and have a family in the future. Oh and I would love to see myself continuing my blog in the future! :)

8. What is something you want to accomplish by the end of this year?
There's so may things but here's a couple. I would really like to see my blog grow and possibly even reach 100 followers, that would be amazing. I would love to do more acting jobs as well! :)

9. When did you start blogging?
I actually started blogging after Youtube. I used to make music videos on Youtube many years ago when I saw a girl known as LittleMissLovelysxx doing music videos. I later got worried that friends from school were going to see it so I deleted my channel :( A year later I started a new channel where I made videos about hair and other random videos such as tags and challenges. I kept making videos for a while but found it hard to find time to film and my videos started becoming inconsistent. It eventually got really hard to upload quality videos on schedule and I decided to just finish there. Thats when I found blogging. I loved reading other people's blogs and started my own. Not this one but another one called Sophie Isabella. I still have that blog and I never use it. I started this one last year and have been posting on it ever since. I found it much nicer to blog rather than film because it's funner to include pictures. I can also lie down and write and it doesn't require hours of editing (most times haha). I just found it much more pleasant and fitting to my lifestyle to blog. I hope that made somewhat sense haha. I didn't put in all the details as to why I stopped with all the channels and last blog because it would just be boring aha.

10. What is your idea of a perfect world and what would you change about this one to make i perfect for you?
I would love a world where people don't just talk about equality, but actually show it. This goes for anything. I'm not just talking about race and gender, but also age. A lot of people believe that the older you are the more entitled you are. I personally don't care what age you are I will treat you the same amount of respect as everyone else. If you're 12 it doesn't mean that I'm entitled to talk down to you. I just want everyone to consider everyone and everything. To put it short I just want a world with human decency.

11. Why did you start blogging?
Sort of answered this already but basically because I began reading other people's blogs and thought it seemed like a pretty cool idea. It suited my lifestyle and it's very fun. :)

Bonus Question. How and why did you choose the blog name that you have?
I thought I one thing that I liked and one food that I liked. So I came up with Cherries and Perfume. However, I'm not really liking it so much anymore and have been wanting to change it for ages. Let me know in the comments what you think! :)

The people I nominate are:

My 11 questions for you :)
1. What types of blogs do you like to read?
2. Where around the world are you from?
3. What would you like to do in the future?
4. What are 3 facts about yourself? It can be anything.
5. Do you have any siblings? If so how many and what is your position in the family? (As in like oldest, middle, youngest, twin etc).
6. What is your favourite TV show and/or movie?
7. Do you have a favourite story? It can be a book or story you know of. (For example I love the story of Peter Pan.)
8. Would you rather be able to fly or be able to turn invisible?
9. What is something that you can't stand?
10. Do you have a favourite scent?
11. What is something that you enjoy or are good at?
Bonus Question: If you could change one thing in your life, what would it be?

Thank you so much for reading my blog post I really hope you enjoyed reading it! If you do this please link it in the comments so I can read it. :)

Australis Fresh and Flawless Pressed Powder Review

Hello lovelies! I'm back today with a review on the Australis Fresh and Flawless Pressed Powder!

I've been using this product for a while and I must say that I absolutely love it! I use it on a daily basis (I don't wear make up every day but for the most part aha) along with my Elf concealer. I'm in the shade Natural.
This powder is both oil and fragrance-free which is a bonus as I have combination skin and get quite oily on my forehead and chin. It's great for everyday use if you're going for a nice natural look. The coverage is pretty good over a concealer. The finish look it matte but doesn't look powdery or dusty on my face.

I don't remember the exact price but it was around the $12 mark. You can purchase this from most cosmetic stores, I know they sell these at Target, Kmart and Priceline.

One downside to this product is that there isn't a wide range of shades, though the product is pretty good at complimenting most skin tones.

Overall, I'm very impressed with this product and would definitely repurchase this (I already have because Priceline had a 40% sale hehe). I without a doubt recommend this to you guys if you're looking for a powder which is high in quality and not overly expensive.

I really hope you enjoyed reading this post and if you did leave a comment! I love reading them and if you have any ideas for future posts please let me know!

Have a great day!
